Suggestions for San Pedro, Ambergris Caye
Restaurants: Although I have never had a bad meal dining out in San Pedro, a few of my favorites in town are: Elvi’s Kitchen, Blue Water Grill (Sushi on Tuesday and Thursday), Caprice Bar & Grill, El Fagon (for a very local experience), Lily’s Treasure Chest, The French Touch, The Farmhouse Market & Café, and Waraguma. Restaurants on the north side would be: The Dive Bar, Croc’s, The Truck Stop (food trailer park), Stella’s Smile, Marbucks Coffee House (hot/cold coffee, food, beer and wine – Wine Down Wednesday's from 4:30 – 7:30 with wine by the glass, live music, and complimentary nibbles), Rain (rooftop) located at Grand Caribe one mile north (great roof top experience), Tipsy Lobster, The Taco Bar at PUR Boutique Cabanas, O Restaurant located at Las Terrazas (3.5 miles north), Mambo’s at Mata Chica, and Portofino. Heading south you will find Robin’s Kitchen, Palmilla (located at Victoria House) and Toast Boozery & Grill. At Mahogany Bay Village (located across the street from Victoria House on the lagoon side) you will find a variety of restaurants, and Rum + Bean Café (a great coffee shop). Mahogany Bay Village is worth checking out. A little further south from Mahogany Bay you will find Someplace South CafeBar and Black Orchid. Just south of Sunset Beach Resort you will find Southern Charm (the old Lonestar Cantina).
Please note that most restaurants usually pick one day a week to close, so it is best to check before hand and if you are also able to make reservations I would highly suggest that. There are always new restaurants opening too, so please check with your resort to hear the latest.
Bars: There are a ton of fun beach bars in San Pedro. In town you will find Sunset Lounge located on the roof top of the San Cas Building right across the street from Tropic Air, Fido’s, Wahoo’s Lounge, and the bar at Blue Water Grill. There are also some over-the-water bars in town that include Hurricane’s Ceviche Bar, The Palapa Bar, Loser’s, and Wayo’s (these last three are located along the Boca del Rio beach area. You will also find Sandy Toes and Nauti Crab on the Boca del Rio beach. Nauti Crab is known for their crab races and is the former Crazy Canuck’s – new name and new location. Heading north you will find Croc’s, The Dive Bar, Coco Loco’s, and the rooftop bar at Rain Restaurant. Over-The-Water bars in this area include 303 Belize, The Ugly Duckling, and Rum Dog. “Secret Beach” has a couple of bars and restaurants, which includes an over-the-water bar, Blue Bayou. Ask anyone for directions to Secret Beach. Long golf cart ride, but a fun way to spend an afternoon. Going south you have Amber Beach Bar, The Admiral’s Bar at Victoria House, Toast Boozery & Grill, Pirates’ South Beach Pub and Café, Shaken (tiki bar located in Mahogany Bay Village), and Stax Sunset Bar.

Closed on Sunday.*Beer, Water & Soda by the case - can get it by the case at the distributorship (M-F from 8-5 and Sat 8-12).*Groceries – Greenhouse (great store with produce, meats, seafood, and groceries) and Super Buy South (meaning the south location) or Super Buy in town – great large store spanning both “Middle” Street and “Back” Street. For not much more than the distributorship you can get cases of beer, water, etc. at Super Buy.*If you choose to shop elsewhere be sure and check all expiration dates, and be sure you watch closely as you are being rung up. Located right across the street from Super Buy (the south location).
